As the name of the recipe suggests, this dish is hot! Several stories back this up, one specifically suggested that the chillies used in the sauce were so spicy they made a tiger weep!
But don’t worry, you can make it as spicy as you like, either way it will be a delicious accompaniment for your favourite cut of beef.
Oyster sauce | 2 Tbsp |
Fish sauce | 2 Tbsp |
Coconut Sugar | 2 Tbsp |
Sirloin steak | 250g |
Tamarind paste | 30g |
Thai spice mix | 1 Tbsp |
Shallots | 1 piece |
Coriander | 1 bunch |
Lime | 3 Tbsp |
Chilli wok oil | 1 Tbsp |
Prepare the marinade
Combine 2Tbsp of oyster sauce with 1 Tbsp of fish sauce and 1 Tbsp of coconut sugar in a bowl. Stir the ingredients until combined.
Rub the meat
Spread the marinade generously over the sirloin steak. Place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.
Prepare the dipping sauce
In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp of fish sauce with 30g of tamarind paste and 1 Tbsp of coconut sugar. Add 3 Tbsp of lime juice, finely sliced shallots and chopped coriander. Mix well until the ingredients combine.
Cook the meat
Stir-fry the beef in a pan using 1 Tbsp of chilli wok oil. Serve with the dipping sauce and a side of veggies!
